The final task during basic training is called Battle Stations and involves putting out fires and putting on the right protective gear. If you don’t satisfactorily complete it, you do not become a US Navy sailor. It sounds suspiciously like the crew was either not properly equipped or the actions and commands of the ship’s captain were inadequate. Of course, none of the people involved in ordering this war has any experience with naval operations. The incompetent leading the incompetent.
Maybe they didn’t want to spend another two months lining up for what, two hours to release their bowels in the morning or I guess afternoon or evening ?
