I have dealt with trolls and misinfomed people often.

I often block them. What we do not want to do is disregard people who have a different and sometimes valid or informed opinion.

BTW, I agree with and know about most of the things you said. Kamala nailed it 💙

Wow. As an amateur artist myself I think I may have fallen for this propaganda. I always tsk tsk husband too when he uses any AI in music.

Very interesting. As I often find myself succumbing to the “what have we wrought on the world” dystopian thought meme that poisons my past professional collaborations with CGI and computing. During and since the eighties we explored the potential and possibilities of a digital future with glee. Something shifted in the arts at the turn of the century, the light behind the glee since then has been obscured by visual dominator phantasy fictions funded by arms dealers blood money.

I really miss speculative art and fiction. Whatever the medium.

I have seen AI art at MOMA. One of the pieces I saw on that huge screen was so beautiful, I watched it for a long time, mesmerized. The other was very blah and didn't interest me. Kind of like some human art.

I believe that AI art has a place. The fact that it is AI should always be identified, as well as the creator of that AI art. It needs some regulation, as far as accessing people's

trademarks, patented inventions, and copyrighted works. Also, it cannot be used as a terrorist's tool.

People's opinions on this should not be dismissed, even if they are not from a person who is an expert. It's called freedom of speech.

I ,for one, am interested in hearing those voices.

I hear ya. But the people who are going out of their way to instigate hate against Democrats who use AI are not the good guys.

The Anti-AI Movement: Right-Wing Tendencies and Misguided Activism. Unmasking the Anti-AI Narrative: The burgeoning anti-AI art movement, spanning communities like the "artist hate" subreddit and various online groups, often frames itself as a champion of artists' rights and ethical technology. However, a deeper examination of its tactics, core philosophies, and real-world implications reveals a surprising and disturbing alignment with right-wing, protectionist, and even authoritarian ideologies.

This is the same discussion in the “art” world post WWII about photography. Is it art or not?

I say look up the Coco Channel photographs taken in the bombed out streets of Paris with her models posing the new season. It’s breathtaking. She wasn’t going to wait for anyone. Photography became art after that and thereby allowing photos from 1860+ into the museums.

AI is definitely art.

It’s kinda like the US immigration stories. New immigrants are as KDot says “not like us” but become less like immigrants in each generation and more as Americans as years go by and they become part of the workforce. It’s who America is.

I agree, especially that Dems must be using these tools for good. And using talented people to wield the weapon to avoid the cringe that permeates the other side. Go for it.

What art contributes to us all are ideas and questions framed in interesting ways, not only decorative objects and skilful rendition, but ways to see the world through another’s lens.
