I have a 19-year-old, and this is 100% spot on. I weep for him, his generation, and the absolute lack of care that MOST Americans seem to have about the wreckage we've made of the environment. My Boomer "friends" are even worse, and say stupid sh*t like, "Oh, I have such hope for their generation, I know they'll fix it!"... b*tch, YOU started this and YOU messed it up for GenX and everyone else below us. YOU won't even recycle, let alone demand a reduction in fossil fuel usage, and/or support political candidates that will actually enact policies that stop pollution, and promote clean air, water, etc. In fact, the candidates they've voted for, and continue to vote for, are actively working to undo the EPA and climate change policy in general. So yeah. What the hell does my kid have to hope for, or look forward to? NOT ONE THING.
