It’s rather extraordinarily disingenuous of religious kooks to say that our founders based our constitution on the bible when reading these quotes tells a much different truth.
Yes, it is. In fact, it is the opposite of the truth! I knew the 'Founders' were deists and non-sectarian and that they were very well aware of the dangers of mixing church and state from the bloody European experience. That's why they made the very First Amendment to our Constitution, the Establishment Clause, the Separation of Church and State!
Even the Anabaptist sects (Mennonite, Amish, etc.) that settled in the early Pennsylvania colony and later PA state knew about this, intimately, and refused any participation in wars. There is a book called, "The Martyrs' Mirror", that describes in detail the history of the bloody horrors of the religious wars in Europe that they emigrated to America to escape from, that nearly wiped out their mostly farming communities. It is in the library of the Cloister in Ephrata, PA, where George Washington and others traveled to read about that history, because they considered it so important to the founding of our nation. It is open to visitors, and they have interactive events throughout the year: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fX15TRzsZk . The book is also available from book stores and book sellers.
I knew of a couple of the quotes Oliver cited in his post, but not all of them. They are great! Kudos to him for posting them and his cartoon, too. I'll post them on social media to make sure a lot of people see them and hopefully, share them widely. We are in a battle for the soul (metaphorically) of our nation and it is a battle we MUST win.
Delusional, dangerous and pure evil. This is not what America should be. There spreading disenformation and conspiracy theories to innocent, clueless people. Disgusting!!!
I saw one of these preachers on TV a couple of days ago "screaming" about how women are supposed to be subservient to there husbands, stay at home, raise the kids, cook, wash, clean and keep their mouths shut. No opinions, their husbands know everything and run everything. Now if that doesn't scare you, then I guess you deserve it.
A great post! I loved the quotes and the cartoon. I agree with you and have thought the same thing, myself, for quite a while now. We need to keep getting the word out about this to bat-down the ocean of disinformation and nonsense that is out there, especially on social media. See my reply to Kay-El below.

Thanks! Here are a few more anti-religion quotes from the Founding Fathers that you might not know yet:

Check out this video. It’s mind boggling. It’s like something right out of the Dark Ages:

See my reply to Kay-El above, I meant to say.
Thanks Donna! I'm glad you like it! Yeah things are not gonna end well, if these psychos get their way.
