Today, I spent many hours preparing an affidavit to help my neighbour escape an unjustified eviction.

Kindness gets confused with weakness...not the same at all. Kindness is strength and showing empathy. It's helping others and supporting each other 🫂💙

Exactly. That's why Nazis try to demonize empathy, to weaken all of us.

Empathy is dying on the vine. Yet hypocrisy is thriving. Upside down times for sure

I make certain I say hello with a smile to everyone who passes by me anywhere. I’ve always been this person and will not change. A smile goes a long way. I still hold doors for anyone as well.

Retirement gave me the greatest gift; it slowed me down physically and mentally, just enough to notice more opportunities to practice kindness in even the smallest ways.

That seems to be key to experiencing the richness of life. I always thought it was about "doing" more rewarding things, more than "social" connection. Now I can see it, how some people instinctly know the value of being in the moment & seeing others. "It's good to be queen", LOL, to have the luxury of being able to be generous with grace in small ways.

I volunteered to go with my friend to assist another friend at the doctor's office. I suspect the patient is afraid of bad news and wants to have others there to help hear what the doctor recommends. It's good to remember that almost everyone you meet could be going through something very hard. Thanks for asking!

I'm helping the family of my deceased friend develop a Celebration of Life ceremony, and I'm still playing my small role in trying to save the country from fascism. Tom would have wanted it that way. Fuck Trump! Release the Epstein/Holman Files!

My Wife Brenda and I do a lot... even if it means a simple acknowledgement, a smile.

In the store one day recently, an older woman and I bumped into each other face first with our carts... I quickly backed up and out of the way for her to come by when I said, "Ladies first." She smiled broadly and said thank you, and that it was very kind of me. I responded, "Making you smile is all the thanks I need, but you are most welcome, young Lady!"

We donate monthly, we are active in community events.
