🎭TRUMP IS A COMEDIAN🎭

But attacking free speech & due process, supporting genocides of Vlad & Bibi, pardoning Jan6er & rich criminals, AND accepting bribes openly isn't funny. That's why his ratings are bad & better comics are making fun of him! 🤡

This is not the Christian way! Jesus Christ didn't preach racism sexism bigotry misogyny hatred anger a revenge!! you really want to know what Jesus was preaching his own love empathy and compassion the resurrection of Christ!! if Jesus Christ was here today!!! I bet you that he would of flipped all of the tables and whip every single one of those former southern so-called baptist to now maga trump cult far right wing fascist authoritarian lost sinners with his own huge switch. Who calls all of themselves Christian's. I came personally came up in a non-denominational church in Detroit and my former minister read and knew the bible. Love thy neighbor as thyself. It's a shame that white evangelical christian nationalists are all just still spreading out all kinds of their hate anger not just all of their racism sexism bigotry misogyny and bullying!!!! I pray that white evangelical christian nationalists all start looking at the mirror and realize they are the ones that's been and still are filled with all kinds of hatred anger revenge no empathy love and compassion!") also they all must change all of their ways and just stop being maga trump cult far right wing fascist authoritarian racists white supremacists for a change."

I was raised Southern Baptist. Went to Revivals, followed the Bible as a great guide to raise children. Love thy Neighbor was a strong guide for inclusiveness in religion. I do not believe I am raciest!!! I would fight for the rights of people to have their free speech, freedom of peaceful assembly etc…

Please do not paint us all with the same brush!!!

Som scholarly insight from a former Christian now an atheist:

The translation from Leviticus 20:13 is incorrect.

From John Boswell, Christianity, Social Tolerance, and Homosexuality, 1981, pp. 100-101,

"The only place in the Old Testament where homosexual acts per se are mentioned is Leviticus:

'Thou shall not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is an abomination [18:22]'

'If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. '[20:13 KJV]

The Hebrew word "toevah", here translated as "abomination", does not usually signify something intrinsically evil, like rape or theft ...., but something ritually unclean for jews, like eating pork or engaging in sex during menstruation, both of which are prohibited in the same chapters. It is used throughout the Old Testament to designate Jewish sins which involve ethnic contamination or idolatry and very frequently occurs as part of the stock phrase "toevah ha-goyim," "the uncleanliness of Gentiles: (e.g., 2 [4] Kings 16:3). For example, the condemnations of temple prostetution involving idolatry, "toevah" is employed (e.g. I [3] Kings 14:24), while in prohibitions of protitution in general a different word, "zimah," appears (e.g, Lev. 19:29). Often "toevah" specifically means "idol," and its connection to idolatry is patent even within the context of the passages regarding homosexual acts. Leviticus 18 is specifically designed to distinguish the Jews from the pagans among whom they had been living, or would live, as its opening remarks make clear.--"After the doings of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances.' 93, KJV). After the prohibition of homosexual acts follows immediately upon a prohibition of idolatrous sexuality (also "toevah"): "And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass the fire to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God..." (21, KJV)

"Chapter 20 begins with a prohibition of sexual idolatry almost identical with this, and like 18, its manifest (and stated: 20: 3-4) purpose is to elaborate a system of ritual "cleanliness" whereby the Jews will be distinguished from the neighboring peoples. Although both chapters also contain prohibitions ... which might seem to stem from moral absolutes, their function in the context of Leviticus 18 and 20 seems to be as symbols of Jewish distinctiveness." (For more, continue reading and check the footnotes, which add more insight, including, for example, the early Jewish commentators, like Maimonides. You will also find a greater discussion of the Hebrew lexicon and their contemporary meanings from the time they were written and used initially.

Finally, when evangelicals attend "real" seminaries, those that teach Latin, Greek, and Hebrew, and are scholarly, they often stiffen. Evangelical "Bible Colleges" teach memorization and evangelism, not the historic context of their writings or the language, except to memorize purposely false translations.

Well written with a lot reference material tells me your a critical thinker with deep morals, character, values and a very creative person - thank you

“Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is and rumored by many. Do not beleive in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.”

With all due respect to all, I’ve opined in the past that “God sanctions/condones; slavery, incest, murder, rape, genocide, adultery and more.

Sometimes it’s not easy to identify a CINO (Christian in name only) but once they speak and by the way they; dress/adorn themselves ( 1 Peter 3:3-4), how they pray (Matthew 6:5-13) and by what they covet “ needs vs. wants” (Mark 7:20-23) they’ll appear to be non-Christians more than a CINO’s.

The whole reason that The Southern Baptist Convention came about was due to a break from The Baptist Church that was of an abolitionist stance, was it not?? - creating the Southern Baptist churches allowed slave owners to still be ‘Christian’s’ - just Christians who owned slaves?? I could have sworn that was the impetus behind it. Kind of like Henry VIII wanting a divorce and creating his own Church to get around the rules of the traditional Church of England? Oof, there’s that link to kings and shit again.

You are broadly correct, but it was the Catholic church that Henry VIII broke with, because the pope would not grant him a divorce. He founded the Church of England with himself (the ruling monarch, so currently Charles III and formerly Elizabeth II) as it's head.

When I started doing research for Drag Bible Study (https://the-dnn.com/ ) I started looking at multiple translations of passages. I was raised Roman Catholic. Our Bible was written in language that was a bit arch and archaic. But when you get into some of the Protestant translations it's clear the editors and translators layered on contemporary meanings. The Exodus quote about "a capital offense" is not even close to the consensus translation of older Bibles.
